About BarcodeFree
BarcodeFree is built and maintained by Stepan Davidov, a solo developer. Every line of code, every design decision, and every feature on this site comes from one person working to make barcode and QR code generation genuinely free and private. There is no team, no investor, and no growth roadmap — just a tool that works.
The generator supports the formats that cover the vast majority of real-world use cases: Code 128 for general-purpose labeling and logistics, EAN-13 for international retail products, UPC-A for North American retail, Code 39 for legacy industrial and government systems, Data Matrix for high-density 2D encoding in electronics and healthcare, and QR Code for URLs, text, WiFi credentials, and vCard contact data. Beyond single barcodes, BarcodeFree offers bulk and batch generation modes that let you encode an entire list of values at once — paste a list or upload a CSV and download all results as a ZIP archive or print-ready PDF.
Existing barcode generators wanted my email, capped daily codes, or pushed paid plans. BarcodeFree is the opposite: no account, no paywall, ever. All processing happens in your browser using the Canvas API — your data never leaves your device and no server ever sees what you generate. The tool is supported by non-intrusive advertising, which keeps it free for every visitor without compromising on privacy or putting any feature behind a paywall.
